To celebrate Hunger Action Month, Capital One Center participated in two events to give back and support our community. Kicking off the month, Capital One Center sponsored the Food for Others Tysons 5K race. Since 1995 Food for Others has offered emergency resources to families in need in Northern Virginia. Recently their demand has grown significantly due to inflation. In total, this race raised close to $100,000 for our neighbors. Learn how you can get involved with Food for Others here.
Next up: the Capital One Center team volunteered at JK Community Farm, thanks to a longstanding partnership with Capital One’s Community Impact & Investment team. All of the produce on this farm is donated to local food banks, including Food for Others. Together, we harvested over 650 pounds of produce for families in need in Northern Virginia.
