Nothing in Between nail salon carves out a niche at Capital One Center, eyes a franchise
The salon opened its first location in Falls Church and has since expanded to Tysons.
Jade Kim Trusso founded Nothing in Between, a nontoxic, cruelty-free nail salon in Falls Church in 2016, and later opened a second, larger location with massage services at Capital One Center in Tysons during the pandemic. The business donates 1% of revenue to community causes and supports local brands. Trusso, who immigrated from Korea in 2014, previously worked at Louis Vuitton and a fashion boutique before starting her own business. Nothing in Between cleared $2 million in revenue in 2022 and plans to franchise in June, with potential new locations near Amazon's second headquarters in Northern Virginia. The main challenge for Trusso is employee relations and motivating her mostly immigrant female staff to see a bigger picture for their future.
